Bempton Fulmars

Quite a lot of these are at Bempton Cliffs now. They are not the easiest birds to capture as they are very quick and this particular few came in under a grass bank area so lots of shots were missed!! We persevered and got a few shots in the end!

Magical Sunsets

We have had some glorious evenings on our local reserve, we try to pop down after tea most nights - it is so magical! The sunsets are fantastic and nothing beats being there as the sun goes down. Swallows and Sand Martins displaying and skimming the water, birds coming into roost - amazing!!

Common but Nice :)

These common but lovely birds posed quite nicely for us!

Displaying Swallows

During our bird study group evening gathering we loved watching these Swallows displaying as the sunset. Magical!

Warblers

Lots of these birds today, all full of the joys of Spring! Blackcaps, Willow Warblers, Chiffchaff. There was a large influx of Sedge Warbler today, I counted at least 14 and lots of the males treated me to a flying and calling display. Having not witness this before I enjoyed a noisy 20 minutes watching them

House Sparrow

This female posed nicely for me today in the sunshine.

Speckled Wood

Lots of these on the wing today, first of the year for me. There were lots of birds singing today including Blackcap, Willow Warbler and Chiffchaff but most kept out of sight so no photos obtained

Hare

Lots of hares around to enjoy but usually they are far away and not happy to see people! This one came close to Mick and he managed these great shots!

Black Redstart

On a visit at the weekend to Risby Warren we had good views of a male Ring Ouzel and a few Wheatear. Then as we enjoyed a flask of coffee and some biscuits, Mandy saw a flash of chestnut red and was delighted to have picked out a Black Redstart. Exciting stuff as neither of us had seen one! It stayed around for a good hour or so but very flighty and unconfiding. We managed these record shots, it was always at a distance so the photos are cropped hence the poor quality. But what a pleasure! We returned the following day but no sign of it.

Waxwings

We visited the site of c50 Waxwings, they were very mobile and visits were few and far between at times. Still we managed these shots - cant resist these stunning birds - seeing them is always a thrill!!

Adders again

We never tire of seeing these, all were quite confiding. Beautiful!
