Hare

Lots of hares around to enjoy but usually they are far away and not happy to see people! This one came close to Mick and he managed these great shots!

Black Redstart

On a visit at the weekend to Risby Warren we had good views of a male Ring Ouzel and a few Wheatear. Then as we enjoyed a flask of coffee and some biscuits, Mandy saw a flash of chestnut red and was delighted to have picked out a Black Redstart. Exciting stuff as neither of us had seen one! It stayed around for a good hour or so but very flighty and unconfiding. We managed these record shots, it was always at a distance so the photos are cropped hence the poor quality. But what a pleasure! We returned the following day but no sign of it.

Waxwings

We visited the site of c50 Waxwings, they were very mobile and visits were few and far between at times. Still we managed these shots - cant resist these stunning birds - seeing them is always a thrill!!

Adders again

We never tire of seeing these, all were quite confiding. Beautiful!

Grass Snakes

Three of these were seen today, quite elusive and quick to slither off!

Wonderful Water Vole

We love these cute little voles, very endearing! This lovely chap was oblivious to my presence and allowed me to capture it munching away! It then swam off slowly and disappeared out of sight.

Treecreeper

I regularly see these delightful little birds but rarely get chance to photograph them as they are quite flighty. This adorable bird came very near to me today, so near that I couldnt fit in the whole bird in a picture!! It stayed about ten minutes in my company and looked very fit and healthy!

Reed Buntings

The majority of these birds today were male, I saw around a dozen, Always nice to see and observe and easy located by their call.

Meadow Pipits

It was delightful to see quite a few of these today, most were displaying and vocal.

Chiffchaffs

Lots of these around now, lovely to hear them all as we wander round our local reserve!
