Avocets

Lots of these lovely elegant birds at a short visit to Blacktoft Sands RSPB reserve.

Two nice male roe deer on the moor today, always great to see them!

These large lizards were abundant around the ruins of Patara,

This large mantis was spotted near to the mud baths, what a beast!

Squirrels

We came across these two cuties on our way into the mountains. Very playful characters!

A few Turkish birds

Shown here black headed bunting, swallow, black eared wheatear and a white spectacled bulbul

Ruppels

We came across these birds by chance, the female was collecting nesting material, one or two males were in the vicinity but kept their distance

White Stork

We saw quite of few of these on our visit to Turkey

Woodchat Shrike

These beautiful birds were quite a common sight for us in Southern Turkey

Turkish Little Owl

Always a pleasure to come across these adorable owls :)

Rock Nuthatch

This bird was very confiding and happy to pose for the camera. Typically its habitiat was in a rocky scrubby mountain area in Turkey

Great Grey Shrike

A "lifer" for us, very flighty, but great to see such a scarce and beautiful bird!

Wheatear

A few of these about today, pity the weather was dull and overcast, pics a bit "noisy". Hope to see them again when the sun is out!

New Arrivals

Here we have Willow Warbler and Whitethroat. Heard more often than seen, these were the best shots I could muster!
