Very windy day today so not many birds on the wing, here are captures of Common Tern and also two shots of a female Blackcap

Song Thrush fledgling

This little thrush was out and about this morning exploring its new world. No sign of the parents, despite him/her calling frequently? Was seen eating and testing out all the sights and sounds away from the comfort of its nest.

Kestrel

Mick was lucky enough today to see 3 kestrels fledge watched over by both parents, he was able to get these lovely photos!

Tawny Magic

One of those awe inspring magical moments in nature, to come face to face with a beautiful owl, and to spend ten minutes, a few feet away, just watching each other, in a wood at 5am in the morning! Fantastic

Butterflies and Insects

Our first sight of Marsh Fritillaries, also shown here are a hornet and a Common Blue butterfly resting on a daisy

A lot of these around today, very confiding little youngsters!

Broad Bodied Chaser

Nice to see dragonflies appearing regularly now, the blue male perching and the gold coloured female captured here in flight

Nice views of the heron, it seemed more trusting than they usually are!
